As the Lowell Heritage Partnership begins the next stage of the Lowell Waterways Vitality Initiative, a new slate of officers will guide the organization over the next year. James Ostis, who has served as vice president of the LHP for the past year will now move into the role of president.
Ostis is a PhD candidate from UMass Boston’s McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies and a 2015 recipient of the Rappaport Institute Public Policy Fellowship. He is currently serving out his last term as the chair of the Lowell Cultural Council.
Paul Marion, who has served as president of the LHP for most of its 15+ years is taking a step back. Fred Faust who had served as an officer in previous years returns to the role of vice president. Together Marion and Faust helped conceive the Waterways Vitality project, which is arguably the most ambitious project in the LHP’s history.
Jane Calvin will remain as the group’s treasurer while the clerk position will be served on a rotational basis for the time being.
The slate was unanimously approved at the Lowell Heritage Partnership annual meeting immediately before the Community Excellence Awards co-hosted by LHP and the Lowell National Historical Park.
